then copied the files from my download folder to my Gog Download Folder (something I always do) and installed. I wanted to do this test because of some of the posts I've been reading claiming that you need an internet connection to install and play FNV.

So I installed, clicked play.....

and an error message popped up saying I needed some sort of dll file.

I don't want to draw any conclusions yet that it was definitely because I wasn't connected to the internet though. I got an error message of some sort when it was installing some of the Visual C++ redistributable stiff and now I'm not only worried that FNV won't run but that maybe something I've already installed and was running fine won't run as the error message(s) seemed to be saying another app had set up the same C++ and it would have to be repaired or something. I dunno. I read the boxes, then they closed and the installation process continued and it was confusing as to whether or not everything was ok.

Well, it wasn't okay because FNV won't run. But I don't know if it's because of those error messages, because those claiming you must connected to the internet are correct, or even if it's something else entirely. All I do know is that it won't run.

I'm going to uninstall it, shut down my computer. Restart it, and reinstall it, and see what happens.
It might be good to know wich OS you're running.

I contacted GOG support with two questions:
- Is Fallout New Vegas on GOG is still compatible with Windows XP 32bits?
- Can I install it on a not Internet connected PC?

These are the answers received:
- We no longer perform compatibility tests for Windows XP and Vista, so I'm unable to guarantee that the game will work correctly on Windows XP as it was not tested.

- The game can be installed and played on a computer without an Internet connection. Downloading the standalone installer and moving it manually to the offline computer will be required.
