I was playing Fallout 2 yesterday and did a meals on wheels quest to deliver someone their lunch. I got a small amount of XP for it but it was just enough to tip me over to the next level. It got me wondering what the strangest and most inconsequential XP reward lead to a level up would be.
I've managed to go up a level walking to a new destination, had fights with raiders, radscorpions and deathclaws and then finally got the last little bit of XP from killing a rat but I think "Take the mechanic some lunch" is probably my smallest level up quest.
Anyone else had smaller?

iuno sometimes it kind of makes sense.
"after reflecting during my quest, once I arrived at my destination, everything suddenly became clearer, I realised how to explode a mans pants."
Every time I start a new game in Fallout, I get my first level by stealing/first-aiding. Kill all the rats, then go to Shady Sands and steal everything from everyone in town (of course, I always tag-skill Steal).
Tip: Quick-save before any theft attempt so you don't end up having to murder the whole village (or get murdered for that matter) over a knife or 18 caps or something. You can get about 600exp from stealing from Shady Sands, enough to tip that first level.

well yes, but technically quick saving/loading is cheating, but if you wanna go that route its all yours (I do it as well sometimes, but just saying...)

IIRC
You can get unlimited xp this way, because you can use pick pocket to GIVE people things and then steal them back. For alot of xp use stacks of bottle caps, (because they are easy to steal) and steal them back one at a time.
