i have gotten the 3 paladins from the brotherhood of steel and im at the military base. i killed all the outside guards and when i go inside my paladin helpers dont follow me, oh ya, then the mutant with the rocket kills me.
is there some secret way to get inside?
are my paladins supposed to follow?
what use is using the radio to distract the mutants if i still get killed when going inside?
im so confused

The Paladins will only help at the entrance, in the base itself it's you and your followers.
As for the rocket mutant, I had to enter the base, immediately initiate combat and kill him off first. If you have power armour, you should survive the attack from the other mutants.
Alternatively, you can disguise yourself as a Children of the Cathedral member, and talk your way in.
The radio will come in handy later on in the base, you can use it to control the yellow force-fields by linking it to a computer.
