Why should I buy Fallout?

Mmmack: Why should I buy Fallout?

well personaly for me fallout 2 is the better game but i played it first cause my freind's disc was messed up for fallout 1 he had them both.
reason
1, its fairly cheap and easy to run
2. it has good gameplay though you must save like every five minuts lol you get used to it
3. after its patched both games run very well see the mod forum
4. if you like turn based rpg's and dont really want to go for wizzards and knights its a great buy
5. some of the stuff in fallout 2 (out of charachter stuff and pop culture references) are very funny but i guess if you werent around or old enough in the 90's you wont get most of the jokes.
6. the game's music is pretty cool and it draws you in makes you feel like your really in a post apocoliptic world
7 its not perfect and i wont say it is but its worth at least one playthrough maybe several depending on how you like to play you can bee good or evil but if your evil your character wont develop as fast becasue of the xp loss and certin quests become unavailable
i pretty much always play a good decent character the first time through then i play a bad one.
main thing is its 6 bucks man lol

because how much did you pay for the latest 50 cent album?
how much do you pay for fallout and the soundtrack?
compare and contrast
Fallout 1+2 are regarded as two of the best RPGs ever.
So yeah, I think you should buy them, and buy them both!
I agree to all of the above.
I never played a true RPG till gog had a Fallout promo.
As everyone was positive about it and they had great reviews all over the net, I bought all 3 (1, 2 and Tactics).
The moment I started playing I was hooked.
Starting with 1, than 2 I didn't play any other game till I finished both.
So far it has been my best buy on gog by far.

In my experience, Fallout is the superior of the first two. Much more user-friendly at the beginning and by far the more groundbreaking of the bunch. If you like old-fashioned WRPGs, you can't go wrong with this buy.
I actually played Fallout 2 first. It wasn't until a couple years later that I decided to pick up Fallout 1. I was just as enamored with Fallout 1 as I was when I played Fallout 2, although personally I think Fallout 2 is a more polished product (comparatively). Even so, Fallout 1 has an incredible story line and memorable characters and bosses. If you are a Fallout fan, Fallout 1 is a must buy.

Ok, I have to ask this: when does the story start to be incredible and when do memorable characters start to appear? I really tried to like this game, but I gave up at The Hub. It was plain boring, looked terrible and walking around was annoying as hell. Guess I should have played it 10 years ago...
what you have to realize to enjoy fallout is that you can take however long to beat the game as you choose. You can speed run through it in under 10 minutes or take all the time in the world exploring every single place and never encounter the storyline. It is probably one of the most free and open world series of all time.
Have you actually played the game? o_O There *IS* a time limit, a strict one as a matter of fact, so your wandering around will end pretty soon.
yeah I have it, however there are mods to extend the limit.
What is the limit without mods? I have it, but have yet to play it.
I'm pretty sure you can remove the time limit.

That really is too bad you stopped there...But without spoiling anything I found the end boss to be quite unique and memorable, especially in the ways that he could be defeated.
because its one of the best rpgs ever made?
