i really wish gog would provide different links for the different games in a series. i feel like i waste a lot of time browsing through this looking for fallout 1 posts or baldurs gate 2 posts. why are they linked like this? steam does this too. even a way to tag and sort would be nice.
My guess is that it probably encourages board traffic. A BG2 board would probably draw a lot of users from a BG1 board, and so it would be harder to get questions answered since there would be on average less unique users frequenting that forum per day. Whereas in a general, many users have played the whole series and can answer a wider variety of topics.

Ask yourself this; does this board really seem active enough to warrant seperate forums?
It'd be enough if people specified in the thread title what game they're talking about.
Some other forums about gaming series have this rule, and it works pretty well since the moderators actually enforce it, but I don't see it happening on GOG.

I think it would help. Then again, some people post Witcher2 issues on the W1 subforums and vice-versa.

This.

Lots and lots of posts here have something to do with more than one game in the series.
(and sometimes it seems half of the threads are "which one do you prefer" or something like that)

It'd be fun to have a common RPG forum in addition to serie specific ones,
but I guess maintaining multitude of forums just for the heck of it isn't really GOG's core business.
