Has anyone had any issue getting F2 RP to work with Ubunutu?

(For record: I install windows games and their mods in windows (xp btw), and play them in Ubunutu)

Regular GOG's Fallout 2 works for me on Ubuntu (after I added some overides(d3dx9_**) in libraries section of Whine Configuration), but after installing the RP mod it does not. I first get an error about not being able to load cities. Killap (the mod maker) posted a solution to it but I am trying to figure it out. What do I add to the overides, I don't see any ddraw.dll listed? Entering the command line he posted (from the terminal opened from within the Fallout 2 folder) seems to work ( but now I have an error about initializing video mode) but is awkward.

The other issue: You cannot save during combat. That has GOT to go! How can I change that?

Thank you.

Thank you.
This is intended, and is beneficial to the safety of your saves.
Modder changed that because of the fact that saving while combat mode is active can cause a lot of bugs!
I myself have suffered with bugs for saving in the middle of a battle, which I stopped doing after I was reading threads in NMA and found people that were advising to never save in combat.
You can force the game to save, if you change configuration in ddraw.ini to turn that safety measure off.

About your other issue, I don't use Ubuntu, can't give you a hand with that.
Was looking up stuff for my own issues elsewhere and found this about SFall (part of the Restoration Suite I believe)

That *sounds* like it might describe your situation?

What's the problem with entering a command? Make a script, if that bothers you?
