i just got fallout 1 for my xp and the game moves so slow do i need to download a patch.
anyway the game lags terribly when i try and play it, also the mouse seems to move in a weird way, kinda like its on a rubber band attached to where it is supposed to be. do i have to download the patches manually or is it supposed to auto update itself?

The game is already patched to the latest official patch.
About the "laggyness", try renaming your "ddraw.dll" in your Fallout folder to something else.
