Kordo: I loved Baulder's Gate 2. (never played the 1st one though). The KOTR was probably the best modern day RPGs i've played. Oblivion/ Morrowind had great plots, but got borning easily (instead of rewarding experience for kills, you got experience after playing for a long time... a big downside in the game in my opinion) The loot became repetetious as well and you you could never sell the loot for the true value... the max you could sell for was like 1000 bucks, maybe 1200 for every item you found (you could increase this later, but it wasn't worth it)
Anyway, I love GOG since it gives me the opportunity to play the awesome RPGs that i've always heard about. As a kid, the only rpgs (really more action oriented I think) I played were the Lucasarts Indiana Jones series and the Monkey Island sereies. LOVED THESE. I've always enjoyed RPgs that included some humor, especially quirky humor in it. Baulder's Gate 2 definitely had this as well (Give Minsc the talking sword and your laughing the whole time) Ah fond memories :)
Btw, I should mention i'm playing the original fallout now for the first time. Quick question, I know Planescape: Torment is supposed to be freaking awesome. Anybody heard any news as to whether GOG or Steam might be getting this? The cost for the hardcopy these days is obscene.....:(
On GOG you can vote for what games you want. If you want want Planescape: Torment to come to GOG, then vote for it. Its currently in second place.

DotCom616: Alright, thanks for the suggestions. I'll see if I can find Arcanum, Gothic and Vampire. I'll definitely add the others to my "must check out" list.

gothic 1 and 2 are both available on GoG. They're both great, but beware the controls are a little funky and some people are turned off by them, but I think they're fine once you get used to them.
Hm, so you like Diablo and Fallout, but dislike Morrowind, Oblivion, and Neverwinter Nights. So I'm thinking you like the games that are a little more focused and action driver than the pure sandbox rpgs. You would probably like gothic more than Morrowind/oblivion, its a little more focused. Sacred, as mentioned, very much like Diablo. Deus Ex is a hybrid RPG/FPS, depending if you like FPS games you'd probably like that one.
I'm not sure if you'd like Planescape, its really WORDY. Incredibly wordy. I liked it, but it doesn't appeal to everyone. If you're going to play baldur's gate, go with #2.

Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate series are definitely worth looking at if you haven't already. Just get both BG games along with expansions, entire series forms up one single huge game with continuing storyline. Not only can you play BG2 with the same character you played BG1, but pantaloons enigma easter egg requires it.

I liked BG as much as BG2. The plot and characters of BG2 are more complex, less straightforward sword and sorcery than BG, but I liked the relaxing pace and (slightly) more open world of BG. BG2 fixes certain interface annoyances, but theres a mod (BGtutu, I believe) that lets you play BG with the BG2 interface.

Fallout 2 and then definitely Arcanum. Both have the same gameplay and look as the original Fallout, but with several improvements.
