Hi there,

This is the first time I've played and finished Fallout. :) Great story, great game, now I know why it's a such classic!

(Spoiler alert)

Regarding the story, I think I may have missed something at the very end however: I blew up the Cathedrale, but didn't find the Master. Where was he? I don't think I've missed any room in the vault. I didn't know what to do so I had to sneak and lockpit my way to the 4th floor where the bomb is. A little disappointed by this last mission. I will try another approach with my saved games though.

The master is on the 3rd floor of the Cathedral. There's some kind of hidden, easily to overlook door or passage leading to him in the NE.
Indeed, I found the door right after I wrote my message here. I guess I was tired after playing so much! It still allowed me to see another ending. Thanks kmonster.
You blew him up without ever meeting him?
Cool. I mean, I've done so myself, but it's a difficult way to go about it. (I once did so with a broken leg. Limped in and out of the facility under the time, but not by much!)

Well, it was not so difficult in fact, I guess my character was a real badass in the end! ;)
I was stuck for so long on some missions that my character really grew stronger for stupid reasons.

For example, what might have helped me is the fact that until the end I couldn't resolve the Deathclaw mission. For some reason I didn't see the stairs leading to the Mother Deathclaw, to the point that I thought it was impossible to get rid of them, and as the mission didn't show up in my Pip-boy status, it was plausible. So basically, I killed many, many Deathclaws (in hand to hand combat!), and it gave me a lot of experience.

Also, it was very late in the game that I realized how to actually get inside the Glow (with the rope!), so when I was able to join the Brotherhood, I was already super strong, and the end was near...

None of the Blades, the Gun Runners or the Regulators ever noticed that, either. Or never survived to tell anybody else about the staircase, hard to say. At least you were in good company!

Impressive... does that mean you did most of the game without power armor? I had a lot of trouble when I played Fallout 1 because I kept trying some tough areas rather than going to the Glow, because I was afraid the Glow would be really hard. Eventually I did the Glow, found it to be pretty easy, and got Power Armor from the Brotherhood, and then realized I was quite dumb for not doing that earlier as fights were MUCH easier with the power armor.

Well, I did everything without the Power Armor, except the Military Base and the Cathedrale.
It's true that I was more resistant to the Super Mutant with big guns once I had it, but apart from them, it didn't change much. The Deathclaws were a little easier too.

But I wish I had been a member of the Brothehhod earlier. I went several times to the location of the Glow but could never find anything to do... Although in my desperate search, I did find the alien spaceship south of the Glow! It was fun...
