I'd just like to let everyone know that GOG.com's installer works just fine under Linux with WINE. I've bought Fallout 2 and it installed and ran like the plain old CD-based version I have.
Congratulations to GOG.com :) The installer has some font rendering problems under WINE (paragraphs are too close together), but otherwise it's fully okay. Trying to install under Cedega probably works as well.

I could've just added one more reply there, but I could swear that there weren't any results when I searched for WINE. My eyes must've been broken.
Oh well, on to test some other games, so that perhaps I can become relevant at some point.
