I am not that big of an RPG fan, even though my collection of PC games looks like it would prove otherwise...
I tried playing older 'classic' RPG titles as 'Baldurs Gate' ,but I was never able to enjoy it due to the D&D combat system that I never truly understood (press pause so I can think of tactics just doesn't seem fun to an action gamer like me.. )
I bought Fallout from GOG.com yesterday and let me tell you...
Fallout is COMPLETELY different!
This is TRULY a (201%) role playing game and its just about that.
Make whatever character you want and let the story take you in.
Don't worry about the combat system and weapon stats, because, even though they are a huge part of the game, they will never take you out of your created character.
If you love adventures get this game ASAP, because you will get plenty and never get bored of it.
I thought RPGs are boring, but thank the heavens that I bought this game and gave the genre another chance.
I assure you that you will get addicted to the seemingly endless amount of great characters and interesting quests, which are covered by a breathtaking atmosphere.
BUT before you click on the buy button, let me tell you one thing...
The 'breathtaking atmosphere' might not be YOUR cup of tea (but it certainly is for A LOOOT of people).
Even though the game has a lot of humor, the post apocalyptic setting will (or lets just say 'might') give you a bit of a weird feeling (which just shows how great it is integrated and portrayed), so just look at some gameplay videos and decide for yourself what you think of the scenery...
Other then that, have yourself some fun and buy this game now =)
