Whenever i go to run the game i get a warning message that says something to the effect of "The application didn't exit correctly. If your system is not running correctly would you like to open in safe mode".

I click no, and then the game starts up and looks to be working fine.

I'm using the newest version of windows, that beyond awful and very inconvenient, far less streamlined windows 8 or 9 or whatever it is. Blows. Anyone else have issues like this? I had the games on my previous computer which had the vastly superior windows 7 and had no issues like this. Anyone know what it might mean at least? What application might it even be referring to? Windows perhaps? It has to exit windows to start the game i guess? Very odd.

Also, anyone know why i have to click, "run as administrator" to get the game to work? Says "Error can't be started" otherwise. Had similar issue previously back when i had superior windows on my old computer, but then the game would still open but with messed up glitched graphics. It's no big deal, works fine as long as i open as administrator, just curious.
About first quetion. I'm never find this with Fallout (also I'n get this message sometimes when exiting from Fallout NV).

About the second question, Fallout is an old game, designed for Windows 9x, and not run on modern OS's without compatibility fix. For this game in question, the fix become in Windows itself, in the application compatibility list. Basically, Windows reknown the game, and automatically apply the Windows 9x compatibility mode.
