I purchased the GoG Fallout 2 after googling GoG installation on Mac and seeing that plenty of people have indeed installed it. I got the impression that wrappers/wine etc wasn't necessary.

However the download GoG provides is a .exe and Galaxy doesn't consider Fallout 2 installable on my Mac.

I've spent another half hour reading posts but most are from 2013 and earlier with broken links etc.

What's the best route to getting this installed?

The game is 32bit only. Are you on a 64bit only MacOS?
I'm still on Mojave.

A quick google suggests 32 bit is still possible:

"in 2018 Apple informed them that macOS Mojave would be the last version of macOS to run 32-bit apps"
I can get Mac installers if I download and install from the website. You can get the game that way, install it and then import it to Galaxy if you insist on using that.
So I had to get a new hard drive. Nothing from the old one was salvageable. They also put High Sierra on as my operating system (the computer itself is from late 2011). I got GoG Galaxy on the computer again and saw that it still had the Fallout 2 in my library so I downloaded it. When I start it though it just pops up like it's starting and sits there doing nothing. I end up having to Force quit out. Now admittedly the version I have in my library was from when Fallout 1,2, and tactics were put up on GOG for free. But since it downloaded a 700+ mb file I figured it'd work. What am I doing wrong? Help?
