Hi, my english isn't the best, so i ask you : French language is available on fallout ? If not, there is a solution for translate the speech of the game ?

Je n'ai pas vu "Français" dans aucune des options de jeux. Il y a beaucoup de texte dans les conversations et il serait difficile pour toi de tout traduire. De plus, Il y a beaucoup d'humour subtil et je ne pense pas qu'un dictionnaire serait assez pour tout comprendre.

I don't know what Wonko said, but I do know that for fallout 1 there are language mods available, no mutants allowed apparently only has Russian language mods. I'm looking now to see if there is a french one, I have heard of one, but I've only seen Spanish and Russian.

here is a french fallout update patch, it is unknown whether or not it will completely localize the game

Good news! French is available but you will have to make a quick 'adjustment'.


Ouvrez le Fichier "fallout.cfg" et changez la ligne "language=english" à "language=french"
Pardon my French . . .

Here is a detailed explanation in English.
Go to the directory where you installed Fallout (usually C:/Program Files/GOG.com/Fallout).
There you will find a file called "fallout.cfg".
Open that File with a text editor.
Go to the line "language=english" (it is near the end of the file).
Change it to "language=french".

You can also change the line to "language=spanish". If you wanted the game in Spanish.

So the Gog versions of Fallout 1&2 already include all the files for the French version?

I wonder if I'll take the opportunity of the current sale to buy them again (had already the Mac version of both but they probably don't run anymore since Lion). But then I quoted only English is quoted.

Are the French files has been removed because of some problems? Or even it doesn't work well in French?

I can't find the fallout.cfg. The one in the game folder have only:
[system]
free_space=0

And I don't find anything in appdata (after virtualStore and programmes files *86, I have only arena, Dosbox and MSEcache.

Somebody can help me?

If you've downloaded the Mac version of Fallout 1, it's probably corrupted. You have to download it via the GOG Download manager.
