Hey, I'm new to this storefront. After hearing the stories of how FO3 doesn't work on Steam without extra messing around, I'm thinking of buying it here, I'm already going to mod it so the sooner I can start tweaking the game to my liking the better, hence I'd like to avoid any issues.
Has anyone tried to play this version on an Optimus laptop? That's a laptop with an Intel integrated that's connected as the primary display but with a dedicated GPU that runs games. For me that would be a 970m 3 GB.
I'm a little worried because as far as I can tell I can't play Fallout 4 in Fullscreen (the steam version) because it seems like Bethesdas lousy coding is possibly trying to force my laptop to use the intel to render it whenever it's exclusive fullscreen, even when it's forced to do so via the Nviida Inspector. That's the root of the problem as I hear of course I have no solid proof but it seems like not many people have that issue or don't care. My hardware isn't the best so I want to be able to get all the frames I can.
Will I have a similar problem with Fallout 3? Even worse I'm worried it will try to use the integrated piece of junk and ignore my 970m, again even if I force it through Nvidia. A baseless fear perhaps but it does worry me a little considering this is Bethesda.
So, have you had any problems with similar systems?
