This game is a micropause-filled mess whenever I scroll the screen. It causes the game to feel incredibly choppy.
-My hardware is so good it's bad so that's not it. GTX275 / Core 2 Duo @ 2.33 ghz / 3gb ram
-Windows XP
-Patched to 1.27
-Tried compatability modes
-Task Manager says its not filling up my page file, though it is filling up my second core pretty decently. Doing the Affinity trick didn't help.
-FRAPS says the framerate is 400+ at all times. Trying to force vsync didn't change a thing. Turning off anti aliasing doesn't help.

Same problem here. Surprised no one has responded to this yet... i'm on Windows 7 but otherwise, yep. Screen tearing and horrid scrolling that isn't fixed by any of the standard solutions... If anyone has any thoughts, please share
You need to disable Anti-Aliased Tiles in the options menu.

That won't fix the problem entirely (I've been searching for a solution for years, and there's nothing that 100% fixes it), but it will alleviate some of the choppiness.
yeah, i tried that out and it did help a bit. It's kinda weird that aa creates weird performance issues with tactics... but its not too bad i guess. Still playable (and way more fun than i expected, now i can join all the fans who really want to see Tactics 2 but know it will never be made :( at least not without being butchered to heck...)
I'm also having this issue, I tried googling but nothing seems to alleviate this issue, I'm running on win7 64bit.

I tried that, it helps a tad bit but on fraps it doesn't show that it increases frames at all. Also no matter the resolution i play at the issue still persists.

Tactics is an AMAZING game, the first playthrough I spent an hour playing, then realized charisma sucks so I redid my char.

Please help us with this issue if anyone can.
It gets real bad when the environment changes from exterior view to the interior view of buildings.
Guess we are still alone in the wasteland when it comes to this...
Ok Guys its been over 8 months and I've still yet to find a solution to the choppy scroll issue to fall out tactics. If anybody has an insight please post. I've been struggling to enjoy this gem.

My Specs are:
Quad core 3.0 ghz 8mb cache
6gb ram
5650 Radeon HD
Win 7 64bit

Some back ground tasks include, antivirus, firewall, nostromo drivers, fatality mouse drivers, and core temp.

Open the BOSS.CFG file with NOTEPAD.

It's located at:
\Fallout Tactics\core\

Edit the following line:
{render.dynamicLight} = {true}

And change it to:
{render.dynamicLight} = {false}

You will lose day/night cycle and most shadows from the maps but the game runs 100x faster.

I'm from the future, letting you know that this doesn't do anything.
There is still no fix for the choppy scrolling issue.
