Hello everyone !
I found a bug between these two games and wonder if gog can fix this.
When you run Fallout 1, it's ok. But after that, you can't run Gorky 17. It just .crashes, and can't be run until you log off and on.
BUT the problem can be in the other way too !
If you run Gorky 17 first, you can't run Fallout untill log off and on.
I tested that with Gorky 17 fresh install, Fallout fresh install, and Fallout modded (Team X 1.3).
Am I the only one with this problem ? Can this be fixed ?
Just for info here are my specs (if it may be the problem)
Windows Vista x64 Ultimate SP1
Core 2 Duo E8500
4Go DDR3
2 ATI Radeon HD4850 Crossfired

Have you got any other older games that you can try to see if the same thing occurs, aside from Fallout 1 and Gorky 17?
If the same thing happens for, say, Fallout 2, I'd say Vista is to blame. It's hard to be more general from the information given.
You should also try all general things like running in compatibility mode and as administrator if you haven't already.

It probably has something to do with the way those games work with the video card. Probably, some specific value on the video card registers (or drivers) may cause such problems.
Does that problem occur even if you set Gorky 17 to use the software renderer? The implementation of 3D support in Gorky 17 is pretty problematic with newer drivers.

I tried with other games like Fallout 2 and Giants Citizen Kabuto and nothing happens. It is between these 2 games only.
I also tried Gorky 17 in software mode and no go.

have you made sure the games actually exit your memory?

I opened the task manager and they are not here anymore after they close. REALLY weird problem. I can play them, but not one after the other :p
