After tweaking, patching, and modifying Fallout I finally got it to run on my netbook. I played for a few days and was really getting into it then it began crashing. I left necropolis and once I head south of that point it crashes shortly after (heading toward the bone yard area). I have tried loading different saved games but it always crashes once I head about an inch or so south of that point.. I have tried reinstalling the data files and refreshing the temp folders to no avail. I have a Dell inspiron mini, all drivers up to date. Anyone have any ideas?
Have you ever saved during a combat? If so, bugs may happen because you did this. : /
Only save the game when the fight is over.

I had similar problems in the past (trying to leave a town and the game crashing). Try to leave town by clicking in one of these buttons (in the cities list) :

Tell me if that works.

Other than the fact you are pushing things a bit tryng to play it on there in the first place. I have ti for the PC and PS3 and the PS3 doesn't workk all that hot either ( mostly in one DLC though, "The Pitt ".

What are you going on about? Fallout 1 and 2 (as sold on GOG) are old PC games, not modern console games. I think you are mistaking it for Fallout 3 or New Vegas if you are making references to a game also on the PS3. GOG don't have Fallout 3.

Yeah I missed that. I was thinking about FO3 .My bad. They should be fine on there. I have FO2 in here, but the Graphics are so dated they don't look all that good.

Hey, sorry I didn't realize anyone replied to this. I think I did save during combat in necropolis, but it would still work for a while after that. I can basically go everywhere except south to that point near the boneyard and what kind of looks like a mountain range. I have tried travelling by clicking the buttons and on the location squares themselves with the same crash happening. It's odd, when it does crash it makes a strange wave crashing sound that repeats until I close the process.. I kind of gave up on it and have been playing Fallout Tactics that works great on the netbook but I am stuck now on that for a different reason! I need to post on that games thread about my issues with it now..
