exviscerous: of course i was thrilled to see fallout 4 release DRM-free, but ive reinstalled the game several times now, and no matter what, the game crashes after a couple minutes.
has anyone else been struggling with this?
my rig is decent, and ive played the steam version with no problems, plenty of times.
i need to know if this is a widespread problem, or if theres a known fix for frequent crashes.
DemonKiller49: I was just waiting for these complaints to roll in. Fallout 4 has always been like this. The culprit is the Nvidia Weapon debris setting. Turn that completely off. All crashing should disappear, if not...also turn off God Rays. It's been an issue since day 1 actually.. Bethesda uses an Nvidia technology called FLEX. It works in conjunction with the weapon debris setting. Whenever Flex is called upon the GPU crashes. Basically, Bethesda used a beta version of the technology which is not compatible with drivers today, and they refuse to fix it.
Also....It's a major major issue on RTX cards.
Thank you for your precious help.
I tried everything here, desactivating debris and godray, reinstalling the whole game, installing SKSE and the mod for the debris, and... Nothing, it just keeps crashing everytime I try to leave Sanctuary just after the bridge...
