Hello everyone!

I finally got Fallout 3 to launch by editing the ini, but now I have a new problem.

I can click "new game" and then "yes" but nothing happens. It does't crash, it keeps running just fine, just doesn't do anything.

So if anyone has any input on this it'd be much appreciated.
I'm having same problem.

Thanks for the reply,

Thing is the game doesn't crash at all. I can get to the title screen, I can click "new" It will ask "Start a new game?" when I then click yes it just doesn't do anything.
I suspect it has trouble creating a save file, but I'm not sure.

Where is your game installed ?
I have on every device an folder called e.g. e:\gog_games\
and my local machine account got admin rights, might be needed by some older games.
Hope, it gives you some help.

Here's a solution someone posted, may work for you.

.
I've never had to use this on my Windows 7 install, but I do know that at times the .ini files can be screwy and deleting it will tell the game to start the configuration part over again.

Though I would recommend you always backup whatever files you plan to delete before doing so just in case.

Fallout 3 GOTY has "Downloads" greyed out on the main menu, and as soon as I click "New Game", it crashes. I've tried multiple fixes listed on GOG, none have helped at all. I believe Windows 10 may be the problem, but am usure. All I know is that before I updated to W10, the game ran fine, and I even completed multiple playthroughs with light modding.
