I've played for maybe 7 hours now unaffected by any crashing or similar issues, till it just started to freeze. I have to alt tab and close the game. It started to happen while I was at the mole rat quest for Moira.
I'm having freezing issues myself. I just bought the game today and started to play. The game just freezes and I can alt+tab, but when I choose a window or the desktop to switch to, the game screen stays there and I can't do anything. I can't even bring up the task manager by hitting ctrl+alt+del. I mean, the task manager starts up and runs, but I can't access it because the game window just stays in place. I can't see my mouse cursor, so I have to use tab to choose task manager. But because I can't even use task manager, I just sign out of my windows account and that's what fixes the whole situation.

It's a shame because I really like this game.

Can anyone help me?
You can avoid having to do this by having the game run in a window, but there are a few games that don't have that option so the below works.

Semi-blind trick to close full screen application:
Ctrl+Shift+Esc is the shortcut for task manager.
Tap the start button on the keyboard.
Hover the mouse over the task manager in the taskbar for a few seconds, a thumbnail preview of the window appears
Hover the mouse over that preview. It will show on screen, (it's just a snapshot of what was on there).
Count the number of times you need to tap the down arrow to the fallout executable
Alt+Tab to the task manager, and down arrow that number of times.
Hit the start button again and repeat to see if you're highlighted on the fallout executable
If you're on the right spot, alt+tab to make sure you're on task manager, then hit Alt+E to end the task.

The mouse cursor disappears when this happens.

Once you tap the start button, move the mouse down. You should see the cursor at that point. You have to you keyboard commands for everything else.

Run Taskmanager -> Windows key + R -> taskmgr -> Enter -> Options -> Always On Top

When the game crashes and you Ctrl + Alt + Del to open taskmanager it will be displayed on top of the crashed game or application window.
