I know this has been covered to death, but I've searched online and can't find a solution to this specific issue.

I have a HP Laptop with Windows 10, Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM and Intel UHD Graphics 620.

I know Fallout 3 does not support integrated graphics card and am aware of the fix for it.

but my issue is when I run Fallout 3, the game loads and gets to the title screen, when I click new game it crashes (due to the integrated graphics card not being supported)

I then follow the instructions and install the d3d9.dll and FALLOUT.INI files whihc should resolve the issue with the graphics card.

But when I launch the game it gets to the "Please Stand By" loading screen and then crashes to desktop, this happens every time but didn't happen before adding the Intel fix.
I seemed to have fixed the issue for now, it appears to be the GOG Galaxy client causing the issue.

When I launched the game using the exe in the fallout3 folder it works fine.
