It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I am playing through fallout 2 and the game will randomly crash. By that I mean the screen will freeze, the mouse wont move or move barely, and not action takes place. Alt+f4 does not effect it and task manager as well as all my other windows are recolored in the fallout pallet. When I try to use task manager I ended up not being able to use the mouse and I had to restart. This has happened twice. All drivers are up to date. What should I do?
thanks
Anthony

Are you using the GOG version of the game or are you playing off of cd?
If you're playing off of cd you might have to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 95. To do this you right click on the icon for the game, click on properties and click on Compatibility Mode, setting it to Win95.
If it's the GOG version I'm not exactly sure what could be causing this, hopefully another person can help out. I haven't had this issue yet with Fallout 2 but I use the GOG version.
I hope this helps!

I may be way off here, but there might have been an issue with your installation, perhaps a corrupted file, try maybe re-downloading and reinstalling, maybe as a last resort.
do you use any mods, fanpatches?
otherwise, I would recommend you aren't running any memory intensive programs in the background.
I can't think of anything else at this point, this wouldn't be a driver issue, because you are actually able to play just fine for a bit. If it was a driver issue I would think it wouldn't work at all.
Otherwise, your other windows show up in the fallout 2 colors because the program itself is not responding. So it isn't being told that the program is no longer having the focus of windows, for windows to return to a normal video mode. this does sound like a sort of memory error..
check and make sure you don't have anything like ati-tray tools or nvidia tools open, or make sure you're not overclocking your hardware in any way. make sure your internet browsers are closed (i usually like to run 4-5 different webpages in a single web browser, usually resulting in it taking up somehwere around 100k memory), make sure the program has administrative rights.. and that's all I can think of for now.

I closed all apps and the one that was running in the back ground and it works now.

I'm glad I could be of assistance.
