Hi guys! First time venturing into the Fallout series and I'm incredibly excited. I'm having a strange problem though: the game runs extremely choppy. I've tried it with and without the hi-res patch, and in various compatibility modes and nothing seems to work. It's a weird problem, the game starts out running perfectly, but after a few minutes in the game it begins to run extremely choppy. Including in the menus. It seems to start doing this when I start fighting the ants at the very beginning. Any ideas?
EDIT: Forgot to mention I've also tried turning of Vsync, anti-aliasing etc. in my Nvidia Control Panel, no such luck :(

Thanks for the help, but there is no ddraw.dll in my Fallout 2 folder. That fix was for Fallout 1 was it not?
UPDATE:
I believe I've fixed the problem. The game was being forced to run in 8-bit color for some reason, so I had to install the hi-res patch and force the game to run in either 16-bit or 32-bit color using the configuration file that came with the hi-res pack. Only problem is now the movies are blank :(. Oh well atleast I can play!!
Actually, renaming the dll file works perfectly with Fallout 1 as well. At leat, that's what happens on my computer.
