I am pretty sure I saw Fallout 2 in the Good old Games program when it started but now its not. Am I mistaken or did they remove it? And if they removed it, does anybody know why?

Unless someone kept track of it, it's hard to say. But it probably was as Fallout 1 and Fallout NV has the tags, so they likely did at one point.

It's possible GOG is removing the PP tag to fix some issue and will re-add the tag back again, unless Bethesda asked them to remove it. Which would be weird since 2 games still have the tag, instead of all being removed.

But this is all just speculation of course. :)

thanks. I was just wondering. Because I have F1 and 2 already from years ago and was considering buying them again if they are now in the GoG Program. But if F2 is not in it anymore then there is literally no reason to buy it again.

Well, if you didn't own the GOG versions of both games, it'd be nice to have, PP version or not, as it's a huge way to own the game forever. All FO games will be on the PP version at some point. Now whether Bethesda will ever delist them in the future, that's sometimes no one can know or predict, so better safe than sorry.

Look at what happened to the Blizzard games, Warcraft 1 & II and all it's bundle. You just never know when a company does a remaster and decides to delist right away or wait until the remaster is out before delisting.

Sometimes just do it without giving any reason or has GOG sign an NDA not to give a reason to the public and then the game is gone. Again, better safe than sorry if it's a game you really cherish, if not, then it's not really a big deal.

I was curious about the last sentence. Do you already own a GOG copy of FO1 and FO2?

Yes. I bought Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics (the versions with all the tons of extras) years ago on GoG. They are now listed as classic in my library. I dont know if they will apply the GoG treatment to those as well, so I was considering buying them again in the current sale. But as I said, if F2 is not in the program then there is no reason to buy it again.

So, the product page actually doesn't say you own any of the 3 due to the renaming listing them as classic in your Library?

My version is 1.2 for Fallout 1 and 1.02 (og-18) for Fallout 2. IF yours is the same, you shouldn't have to rebuy them. The benefit is, you have more extras, but versions should be (or hopefully) are the same.

I've had that worry when I traded someone for Wasteland 2 (it was apparently a Kickstarter version I think) and the version listed in my Library was so confusing lol. I hope that's not the case for FO1/FO2 Classic vs FO1/FO2 non-Classic. It can be really confusing for those who own a copy.

Yep, that's exactly what it says.

Per store page, they did just verify F1 working on windows 10/11, so no actual fixes. But they also added cloud save support. Dunno if they also added that to the old version of F1 tho...

Just check the version numbers in your game Library for each game, if they match what I listed, then you have the same version as the PP version for FO1 and non-PP version for FO2.

If some reason they don't match, you can DM one of the GOG team (the blue colored text names) and ask them directly. I did that will Wasteland 2 a while back. They told me my Kickstarter version was the same as the regular GOG version, even though the version numbers were different.

Just FYI, Fallout Tactics (non-PP) version for me is 1.27 (gog-12) in my game Library.

If they all match, then the only difference is that you have more extras than me. In which case you're good to go and don't need to buy any more copies, even IF the store says you don't own the game for some reason and you can use this as a reference for most games.. :)

Though there are some exceptions if gained through Kickstarter or some other site or store front.

This is what the FO1 file looks like when I try to DL the offline installer: setup_fallout_1.2_(27130).exe

If in-game it seems they are the same as the current GOG version. The DL file version may be named this way simply to differentiate the classic from the non-classic installers it seems like.

So looks like you have the same in-game versions as me. I'll check again when I login to my game SSD tonight just to double check.
