The high resolution patch that comes with the GOG version of the game doesn't work as expected.
I have Fallout 2 from GOG and Fallout 2 1.02 from the White Label PC-DVD.
See the screenshots for comparison.
When the same exact patch (4.1.8) is applied to the DVD version, the results are better.
Fallout 2 from GOG has a limit to the screen width that adds black borders.
Did GOG patch a screen width limit into the fallout exe when they removed the DRM?
Maybe there's a special setting I need? I have the exact same configurations in-game and in:
f2_res.ini
ddraw.ini
fallou2.cfg
GOG = "hires_mod_not_wo.jpg"
DVD = "hires_mod_workin.jpg"
Edit: typos fixed.
