Hi,
I'm trying to run fallout 2 in a toshiba nb205 netbook with windows7 (32bits) and this problem still here.
I have no patches installed, but I've tried the .bat (that works sometimes, but it freezes all system in other), the ddraw.dll doesn't works also (an error message appears and the game doesn't starts)
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thank you guys.
Alex

atag122: Copying ddraw.dll from Fallout 1 to 2 works for me on Windows 7 (x64). No mods or config changes.

This worked for me as well on Windows 7 x32, no mods. Thanks a ton!

The best solution so far. Worked like a charm, when nothing else did. Thank you very much.

Where do i find ddraw.dll in Fallout 1
It's sitting in game's direcotry folder. If you don't have it i can send it to you.

This worked for me! Thanks for posting it. I thought I might not ever play this game again after going to Win 7 x64, but GOG and this posted saved it for me!

BTW it also fixes the crazy map travel speed issue that haunted Fallout 2 on new computers.
Excellent solution.
i am running windows 7 x64 bit. i tried copying the ddraw.dll file into fallout 2's directory but the colors are still wacky, tried running it with many different settings but it's still not working properly. anyone have any ideas?
also tried changing the art chache setting but it says i dont have access to change that file even though im the admin on this computer. is it possible to download the altered version of this file.

I'll need your e-mail address. Sadly there isn't pm support on the forum so you'll have to post it here.
Summit could you please send that to mee too? I have windows 7 too. The email is nerone7@libero.it
Thank you
The e-mail has been sent.
Have fun, hope it works.
thank you very much for the email :) Atm I ain't got fallout II installed, because I've recently changed os. Before I had windows xp, and the game worked fine. But now that I got windows 7, I will reinstall fallout II for sure:)

I have Windows 7 x86 and I don't know if anyone said this but all I did was right click on Fallout 2, clicked the compatibility tab and checked the "run in 256 colors" and "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" and it is working fine
