Hello,

I bought Fallout 2 but it always starts in German. I would prefer the original texts and not the translation.
I tried changing the language option in fallout2.cfg to "english" and while the menu that pops up after you start the game is indeed in English now, the game itself won't start anymore. Just a black screen and then back to the desktop. It does start when it is set to German so I assume I have to change some other option as well.

Any ideas? Thank you

German version of the game drastically differs from the other languages, AFAIR, because of of heavy censorship.
If you are using Galaxy client it, probably, just picks your default language and downloads appropriately localized distribution.
I's suggest just going to you non-Galaxy library and downloading proper offline installer for the English version.
