schnodder: Hi,
I'm playing fallout 1 for the first time and installed all the mods from sticky mod thread. But it seems that I cannot stack items onto each other as described in the manual. I'm also unable to rearange items. Could anyone tell me how it's supposed to work?
thanks,
schnodder
Waltorious: I don't think you can stack every type of item... but you can definitely stack ammo, medicine like stimpaks, caps (used like money) and a few other things. You won't be able to stack weapons, armor or other large items.
Thank you. Well the manual says
Quote:
"If you move COMPLETELY IDENTICAL items on to each other,
they will “stack”. Stacked items are a little more convenient. If you
have stacked items, a number will appear on the stack, showing the
number of items in the stack."
For example I have two Icons of the water container, both of them showing "3x", so I guess this is a stackable item, but it doesn't seem that I can drop one icon onto the other (resulting in "6x").
As for the rearangement of items, the manual says:
Quote:
"If you want to move an item up or down the list, simply pick it up
and drag it to it’s new location.
If you drag completely identical items on to each other, they will
stack. Weapons are only identical if they contain the same exact
amount of ammo, and the ammo itself is the same. Therefore, weapons
will not stack very often."
This also does not work for me. And finally I'm unable to put items into containers like back packs.
Tha manual says:
"Containers are a special kind of item that can store
items within themselves. A backpack, or a bag, would be a container.
Containers don’t let you carry more equipment than you can lift (your
carry weight), but they do let you organize items better.
You can drag items to the container from the main inventory list.
Simply drop the item on the container to add it to the container."
When I try to drop something onto a container or a different location the item just jumps back to its original place.
I guess it's not that important where some items are, but it would be conventient to sort them in some way.
Is this a known problem? Or is it a bug?
