Been trying to get Fallout 1 to work for a couple of hours to no avail. Tried different compatibility modes, different render options from the Hi-Res patch and moved the ddraw.dll file but all I get is the same thing. Game launches to a black screen for a second or two before going to desktop with the .exe technically running in the background though not showing up. So what might be the fix, if any?

[My PC]
Windows 10
Ryzen 5 3600
Radeon 5500XT
16 GB Ram

Edit: Game seems to only have this issue with the FalloutWHR.exe file. The non Hi-Res file, FalloutW.exe seems to work just fine though

1. Delete your "C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Fallout" folder.
2. Open f1_res.ini file from the game folder with notepad.
3. Find the line that says WINDOWED=0 change it to WINDOWED=1 and save it.
4. Run the game, it should launch in a window.
5. Change resolution settings in-game (Options -> Screen Settings).
