Planning on buying this tommorow for the weekend. I also have Fallout 2 retail version but it doesn't work - installs fine, but later gives me an error about file version not being compatible. Yes, I tried in compatibility mode with 95 and 98/Me.
Question: Did any of you had a retail copy, tried to play and failed and later bought GOG copy which runs fine?

Did not have a retail copy, but I can verify GOG.com version works fine w/o mods on both windows xp and vista.
