Total newbie question.
I've been looking up info for the original Fallout, and came across a few comments that state the patch removes the 150 day countdown for the water-chip quest. But I still notice it in the GOG Version.
So what I'm asking is this: Is the 150 day countdown removal an official release, or a mod?
Can any of the hardcore players break this down?

The time limit for the chip was never removed. There's another time limit after that one, which did get removed (more or less).

If you tell some water traders about your vault, they'll extend the limit by 80 days.
