Hey just figured this thread was worth reviving since IMO this mod deserves more publicity.
I'm not that far into it - have only found the third town so far - but even so there have been a significant amount of quests to do at each location, and quite often they interact or contradict (i.e. there is usually a point where you need to choose a side which locks you into a certain path for that area).
I'm quite impressed by the variety of ways you could play through the towns, as there are a number of opportunities to "work for both sides". Additionally many quests have a number of ways of completing them - including a fair few where you can temporarily enlist the help of NPCs to further your aims, such as via bribery or threats.
I'm also impressed by the detail of the plot (or side-plots) in the various quests. In general they are at least as involved/elaborate as those in Fallout2, while retaining much more of the "feel" and "tone" of Fallout 1 (i.e. more serious, less random references to things - but there's still a fair bit of humor, it's just a lot darker... ;)).
Also the main plot - from what I've seen of it - is intriguing so far. Can't really say anymore without spoilers though....
Finally, the game appears more challenging since everything is so $#?! expensive, and the best weapons/armor don't appear to just be lying around as much - so weapon/armor purchases/upgrades are much more meaningful since it takes a while before you're swimming in caps (I'm assuming I will eventually reach that point, but so far I've had to be pretty frugal, even though I was recently allowed to effectively clean out a gang's entire stash - in contrast to FO2 where it felt like it didn't take long at all before you could just get whatever you wanted).
TL;DR: Get this mod if you liked FO1 or FO2 even a little bit - you'll surely enjoy it!
