5 stars, must play for the fans of 1 and 2

I’ve played a lot of fan patches and additions in my time, and there are very very few that actually bring something truly excellent to the table. Like… I super appreciate fallout 2 restoration patch and the work that went into bringing EPA area into the game… but that was one area, large but mostly nothing spectacular. I can see why it was cut from the original rather than some other area.

Resurrection is something completely different. It’s a stand alone game built on top of fallout 2. Thematically it’s closer to 1 than 2, gameplaywise it’s 2. The length of the game is maybe a bit shorter than 1, several towns and other areas, plenty of stuff to do, not nearly all tied to the main plot.

And the main plot is just excellent, with the stuff tied in, it truly got me hooked. Excellent stuff indeed.
There’s 3 possible companions and a dog. I managed to only recruit 1 of them and she was great, all kinds of input and banter and reactions from her. Of the other two, 1 is for baddies and one is for the angels, but watch out, you might lock yourself out of them by making faction choices. Yeah, there’s a lot of choices to be made, and sometimes they come back and bite you.

The only thing bothering me, was the difficulty that was… there was a lot of difficulty in places. At least in some cases it was because I missed the easier way to do stuff, but not always. This is not the babys first fallout, better know your character builds ‘cause the fights are brutal.

I agree, Resurrection is I'd say about 80% as good as the original two games - so it's good, in other words. WORTH PLAYING.

There's another similar project called Fallout Nevada which is reportedly as good as Resurrection.
