Has anyone had any issue getting F2 RP to work with Ubunutu?

Regular GOG's Fallout 2 works for me on Ubuntu (after I added some overides(d3dx9_**) in libraries section of Whine Configuration), but after installing the RP mod it does not. I first get an error about not being able to load cities. Killap (the mod maker) posted a solution to it but I am trying to figure it out. What do I add to the overides, I don't see any ddraw.dll listed? Entering the command line he posted (from the terminal opened from within the Fallout 2 folder) seems to work (now I have an error about initializing video mode) but is awkward.

The other issue: You cannot save during combat. That has GOT to go. How can I change that?

Thank you.

Try following these steps:

Setup new 64 bit wine prefix.
Set Windows 7 as default windows version.
Install Fallout 2 provided by GOG.
Delete ddraw.ini, ddraw.dll, fallout.cfg. (New provided by mod)
Install Restoration 2.3.3. (Do not edit any settings in any files yet)
Set ddraw.dll as native override in winecfg.
Start Fallout 2 via FALLOUT2.exe, not the GOG launcher.
Use the Fallout 2 options to configure the game/graphical settings.
Now feel free to break the game via the magic config files. (In ddraw.ini, ProcessorIdle=15 seems to be working fine.)
"Set ddraw.dll as native override in winecfg. "

how to do that?

EDIT:

OK, I have done it! You need to CONFIGURE -> RUNNER OPTIONS, not SYSTEM OPTIONS. In RUNNER OPTIONS near DLL OVERRIDES you need to add "draw.dll" as KEY and "n,b" as VALUE. Then all is working fine on latest wine.

This is lutris install - H T T P S - lutris.net/games/fallout-2
