For me, I personally find it much easier to play good than be evil. Maybe it's because I'm a nice guy who is extremely softhearted and has a problem doing things that lack morals. In the majority of these games, it's much easier to be a hero than a villain because there is so much good karma to be gathered from killing normally hostile enemies, and good karma quests give more experience.

This is especially true in New Vegas where karma is of no use, except for the level 50 perk. The only way to be evil enough to get the neutral or evil perk is to either steal a bunch of stuff, hack a lot of owned terminals, or kill a lot of people. Then again, in the earlier games, you practically have to go on a murderous rampage to have enough evil karma to kill the overseer at the end of the first game or achieve the Demon Spawn rank in the second game. The first game didn't have all that many evil quests.

Even when I play evil, I tend to hold off on collecting lots of bad karma until later on because certain people won't want anything to do with you if you have low karma. When in dialogue, you need to choose polite responses because saying the wrong thing could result in people refusing to speak with you further, locking you out of quests, and getting good items.

Do you find it easier to be good or evil? How easy do you find it to be evil?
By default yes, for the reasons described.

When I played NV, I installed a couple mods that disabled karma gain from killing and karma loss from stealing, allowing the major decisions to have a real impact on karma. I'd highly recommend it.
Which mods are you using?
These are the two I used:

Other mods exist if you don't want it totally gone.
I think most of us find it easier to play good, I know I do. I mean, it just feels wierd to go around killing random npcs who did nothing to you lol.

Since I read manga a lot these days (and anime), there were some where people reincarnated as the villian in the story in another world of their game/anime/novel. In most cases they were decent people, but chose to play the villian in the case of the games, for fun I guess. And they often suffer at the start and desperately try to reverse their situation in these alternate worlds. Often trying to avoid execution or a bad ending.

For some reason these days, I feel like if I did play the bad person, I may end up in that wierd situation hehe. I know it sounds silly, but stuff like that have the strangest influences on us. :)

So, I play the good PC in most games these days and strangely, I only pickpocket the bad guys now haha. I know I miss out on loot and stuff and I even let monsters live if they can communicate and are reasonable. Ofc if they are violent and corrupt creatures, I'm sending them off to the monster afterlife. :)
