For me, I personally find it much easier to play good than be evil. Maybe it's because I'm a nice guy who is extremely softhearted and has a problem doing things that lack morals. In the majority of these games, it's much easier to be a hero than a villain because there is so much good karma to be gathered from killing normally hostile enemies, and good karma quests give more experience.
This is especially true in New Vegas where karma is of no use, except for the level 50 perk. The only way to be evil enough to get the neutral or evil perk is to either steal a bunch of stuff, hack a lot of owned terminals, or kill a lot of people. Then again, in the earlier games, you practically have to go on a murderous rampage to have enough evil karma to kill the overseer at the end of the first game or achieve the Demon Spawn rank in the second game. The first game didn't have all that many evil quests.
Even when I play evil, I tend to hold off on collecting lots of bad karma until later on because certain people won't want anything to do with you if you have low karma. When in dialogue, you need to choose polite responses because saying the wrong thing could result in people refusing to speak with you further, locking you out of quests, and getting good items.
Do you find it easier to be good or evil? How easy do you find it to be evil?
