I'm just glad to finally see that there's a system that allows for decapitation in 3D games.
They need to update oblivion with that ability.

yea but the decapitation wasnt as fun as removing the left side of his torso and hand. or shooting in burst mode in his torso. and for the second one you only need some decals and an anim...

That's true, but in these new fandangled 3 D graphics, it's extremely difficult to include gibs, apparently (didn't they have gibs in quake 3?!)

not true. hl2 has some great gibs

heh... to each his own. I personally would like to see solid story and all-around playable/interesting game (with a real FO feeling to it). I do have to admit though that the SPLAT effect is a nice added bonus if everything else is as it should be.

Here is what annoys me: Not the fact that people may not be as keen on Fallout 3 as I am, but the idea that If you are Interested in Fallout 3, you must not be a true Fallout fan. Cause obviously F3 isn't a *true* fallout game, right?
Heh. I'd love to see a turn based version of Fallout again, but I won't discount F3 either. At the same time I understand where people that aren't that interested in the game are coming from. I just don't get the rabid hate that comes from so many fallout fans... And it isn't new, I've been seeing it since I started playing in 99.

No offense Razvan, but I just don't understand that response. What if we acted like that in real life? You see it all over the net, but I've found that the fallout "community" seems to be particularly angry heh.
We have 3 awesome games that can be modded to death, one mediocre console game, a cool looking RPG coming out and maybe an MMO in the works. I think the fallout franchise has faired better then many of the GOG that are featured on this site.

as crappy as fallout 3 sounds, I'm still interested in it, it doesn't cater to my personal interests is all, it's not really crappy.
I'm sure there are a ton of features that are going to be great.
I just love the splat.

I dunno, the gameplay vid I saw a few months ago makes it look like it could possibly work and I'm actually looking forward to it (November will be awesome.. GTA4 and Fallout 3 within the space of a week)

of course the fallout community is angry. they killed one of the best series so far. fallout was original, it had everything. look at these modern games!!!

todays gamers seem to like games for the graphics, my god the graphics!!!! NOT for original ideas and gameplay innovation. first person is "the future"?? first person is as old as isometric

Still, I'm not going psycho when I hear about F3, though I definitely can't say that I'm looking forward to it. I'm just curious :-).
I mean - we've already seen some sequels to legendary series, Terminator 3 just to name one. Compared to first two movies, third really sucks but:
1) it doesn't make T1&T2 even just a little bit worse movies
2) it's still quite cool movie on it's own
I guess it will be same case here. I really doubt it will be BAD game. If it will be REAL sequel, worthy of it's predecessors, then I will be perfectly happy. If it will be just Fallivion (more probably), I'll just make thick line behind Fallout 2 and enjoy the game. Either way, I win :)

Here is the thing: I realize that people have reasons for not looking forward to Fallout 3. Just don't jump down the throats of those that are. Also don't assume that someone that is interested in the game hasn't played the previous versions.
I honestly think that may be to much to ask to a lot of the people of the "fallout" community though ;)

i only jumped at his throat because he basically said fallout 2 sucks and firstperson games are way better. i dont like that. and i dont find my first post very offensive.

I've been looking at recent videos, and I'm not pleased. I wish they had made it more RPGish as it appears to be more catered to FPS players. I also find the whole VAT system gimmicky-looking; there's only so many times that I care to watch something getting blown up in slow motion....they hype it up way too much like it's such an amazing,main feature. However, I won't make final judgment until I try it out on my own, but right now I only plan on borrowing it from a friend.
