I'm on vista, and I can't get the installer to run
I click it, and nothing happens
How can I fix this?
No posts in this topic were marked as the solution yet. If you can help, add your reply
have you tried running is as a administrator?
right click the installer and choose run as admin
What a coincidence, that's all GoG tells you to do, to
And it doesn't work
If their tech support worked, I wouldn't have come here
It worked seemlessly for me on my Vista Premium, so there's nothing wrong with the installer.
What version of Vista are you using?

you could try disabling windows defender, it wouldn't be the first time an anti maleware app blocks an installer.... also if you have Norton installer it might also block the installer.
it's a long shot....
How do I do either of those
you should be able to disable windows defender in windows security center which is located in the control panel.
as for Norton I'm afraid I don't know, I usually delete Norton because it's too paranoid....
Doesn't matter anyway, it started working out of nowhere just a second ago
well, let's hope it works flawlessly for you from now on.
Hey, just a heads up that I am having the same issue. Feel better seeing someone else in the same boat. It seems to actually work but takes damn near forever to start. Hopefully they will resolve this matter soon. I am also running Vista 32 bit and have tried the administrator trick (which does nothing).
UAC scans the executable to see if it will require administrative privileges to run. Since the GOG installers are fairly massive programs, this scan can take several minutes. You can disable UAC or you can simply wait it out - it shouldn't be a problem with the actual game, just the huge installer.
