I got Fallout 3 recently and it just crashes after i press play can anyone help me

Mine did that.
I was able to play by starting the game through the exe file rather than galaxy.
I don't know why that worked.

When I had the problem, first I couldn't load my saves, it just crashed to the desktop. I verifyed the integrity of the files and it downloaded some stuff, but after that the launcher was in a loop. Whenever I clicked on PLAY, the launcher appeared again.
I solved the problem by uninstalling and downloading the game again, and thanks to the cloud saves, my saved games are all there.
I would suggest UNINSTALLING and than INSTALLING it again.
(Note: the capital letters doesn't mean that I'm shouting, I'm just highlighting the important parts :))
