I had to reinstall Mac OS X, and I migrated my data from Time Capsule. After reinstalling Fallout, I figured it would find the save game data. However, it did not find my old data.

I looked through this forum and found what I think is the correct directory: ~/Library/Application Support/Boxer/Gamebox State, however the com.gog.fallout folder is not in there. I tried saving a new game within fallout to see if that would reveal the save game location, but that did not work. However, Fallout is able to save games, so there must be a file somewhere in the library folder.

Anyone have any ideas on why my Fallout save game data is not where it should be or why the folder is hidden?

I right-clicked on the Fallout application and chose Show Package Contents. This took me to a folder where I found the location of the save game data. Make sure to back this up!

In case you're still following this post after 4 years, could you tell me where exactly to copy a save file into Fallout 3? I can't play the game beyond the intro and I thought I would try to bypass the intro by using a file taking me right when you get out of the vault.

The path of the save files is:

drive_c/GOG Games/Fallout/DATA/SAVEGAME/

In the SAVEGAME folder there should be folders named SLOT01, SLOT02, etc. The save files live in those folders.
