If so; how can I see the current HP?

(cause I bursted Ian for 43 points with my SMG)

P.S. How does burst work? How much ammo does it use?

Thanks guys.
Oh yes. They can die.
You check his hit points the way you check the hit points of any enemy. You examine him, much as you do enemies or objects you encounter.
Ahhh, alright, thanks.
Companions can be killed by anyone, even you.

Companions can be kill anyone, even you.

If you have First Aid or Doctor Skills you can use them on yourself or your companions to heal them. Taking the Awareness perk will let you see hit points on everyone, friend and foe.

How does burst mode work?
Very well!

The number of bullets fired in burst mode differs from weapon to weapon. For example the SMG fire 10 bullets in burst mode but the Combat Shotgun fires 3, I believe the AK-112 Assault Rifle fires 8. However your chance to hit is calculated on each round, so even though you fire 10 rounds you may only get one hit. Burst mode is best used up close at point blank range. If you have a group of targets lined up aim for the on in the back, you will most likely miss that one completely but you will hit most of the targets between you and the targeted enemy.
Extra note about burst mode:
If you fire a burst at someone who's in the adjacent hex to you, it doesn't calculate line of sight or anything, ALL of the shots go into that ONE target, and into nobody else. This does obscene damage and will kill almost anything if you're using, say, a Minigun or Gatling Laser, but it's bad if there are lots of enemies onscreen. This also means you shouldn't try to tackle anyone armed with a Minigun in melee unless you're SURE you can kill them in one round, because they can destroy you even if you're wearing Power Armor.

But this also has an advantage: If you're standing far away from someone that uses a burst weapon, you take very little damage from them. A certain character near the end of the first game is an absolute joke if you stand back 20-30 hexes and just wail on them with a good rifle while they do a mere 1-2 damage per shot.
Just a little note about bursting:Remember that your companions will burst in the most unnecessary moments,so it's not rare for a follower to kill you.
Try to the keep burst weapons for yourself, and give your companions a powerful single shot weapon,so they have less chances to kill you by mistake.
