Today I finished my CD copy of Fallout and realized how much better my experience would have been if the game had worked properly. I would often have the screen go black and random crashes occurred frequently. There were also several specific bugs such as when finishing off the Regulators in the Boneyard, my game would crash thus stopping me from finishing that quest. I have a CD version of Fallout 2 as well, but will gladly buy it from GOG if such annoying errors don't occur and I can enjoy my experience without having these annoyances. On a different note, does Fallout 2 have as many negotiation options as 1 since I rather regret choosing the "kill everyone" style when I could have been used a less direct and more fun approach? Thanks to all who reply.
The only time I ever encountered an error with the GoG.com version of fallout was after I installed a mod incorrectly
Although, I still get that weird paint away the screen bit after a couple of hours, but I don't really care about those.
As far as I understand Fallout 2 is more open than Fallout 1.
