I've been playing FO1 on my Windows 7 Home computer for a few hours now. I've been to Shady Sands and The Hub, done a few local quests etc.
I've found that only a few bookcases in Shady Sands had anything in them, but I've yet to find any bookcases within The Hub that are stocked. Is it normal not to find anything most (all?) of the time?
I'm using the Team X 1.3.4 update, and the high resolution patch.

It's a little odd, but I think that the junk you find on bookshelves and in other containers is randomized. If you NEVER found a bookshelf that had loot on it, I'd be suspicious, but as matters stand now I think there probably isn't a problem.
The Hub, IIRC, is very light on loot that you can just grab out of people's houses. The shopping is great, but I guess security is tight enough that taking people's valuables isn't so easy there.
