Most of the stuff that made the original great, continuing the story with tuned-up mechanics and new regions to explore. Perhaps a little less realistic-seeming (some of the areas have a bit more of a theme-level feel), but that doesn't really detract.
Recommend for all fans of the original. Play that one first.
