I haven't heard or been able o find a work about the game hanging, only books full of crashings. I did most of the obvious crashing stuff anyway, dumbing down the settings to lo, shutting off weapons debri updating my G Force driver etc. with no effect at all. It hangs solid (I mean reboot computer solid) whhen in Pip Boy, fast traveling, going thu doors & even when just walking along. Can't get a handle on it, any thoughts would be welcome..... A bewildered old man

There a two "possible" workarounds for this

1. to avoid having to do a full reboot you can ctrl alt delete>>> sign out. which terminates anything running

(I know this works as have used it a fair ammount...)

2 have a notepad document open in the background (I use a blank one when I remember)

I can't say 100% how effective this is as I don't rememeber having a "hang" when I remember to leave one open

so not sure if this actually prevents it as hangs are quite rare for me now, but hey I can say I have not seen any downsides to doing this so worth trying

Kudos to the members of Nexus that posted these two little nuggets as were found on the nexus buried in the comments

The settings can be left unchanged if they meet the requirements of the game and there are no hardware problems.
Game freezes will continue to occur, until changes to the game are made with the new patch.

The game's engine is very old and very bad.
