cranksatori: Did a fresh install of Fallout 4 GOTY on GOG, then London per GOG's instructions, since they claim it runs natively, figured that would give me the least issues, and I wouldn't have to mess with the convoluted Steam install. Worked great, even got past the train without issue. Now I'm stuck at the first conversation off the train. As soon as it goes into dialog mode, I get a big white rectangle overlay that pops up and reads:

F4SW Status: FAIL
F4SE is not running.
Make sure that F4SE is installed and you have launched the game with

I assume there is supposed to be more text after that, but it ends there and there is no way to advance it or clear the window besides exiting the game or reloading the last save.

the dialog scene is still happening behind the white text block, but there are no dialog options, so it's just stuck in a loop of "not talking...? and my character staring back blankly for a few seconds till "not talking...?" repeats.. which is kind of an amusing thing to glitch on, but it would be nice if I could continue on with the game too.

Maybe this is just an extension of the Train crash everyone else seems to be having, but since it had an actual error message that I haven't seen anywhere else, figured I'd start a new topic...

[edit]I I've also tried turning my graphics settings down as mentioned in other threads. Anything below "ultra" and it crashes to desktop just as the first conversation starts. Set to "ultra" and I make it all the way through the convo to the point where I need to reply and I get the F4SE error mentioned above. Yeah. That makes no sense at all.

Any ideas what's causing this, and/or how to get past it?

cranksatori: Yeah I just saw that one. I started from a fresh install of both in GOG Galaxy, followed their instructions exactly. Pressing play on the Fallout: London card does nothing at all for me, I cannot start the game from there. The only place it runs from is the Fallout 4: GOTY page. Plays fine from there till I get to the problem in my original post.
