We appreciate how many of you have already downloaded our game - we've been hearing amazing things.

If you're having issues with installing, we recommend trying these steps:

FALLOUT LONDON QUICK START AND TROUBLESHOOTING:

Before Starting:
- Uninstall Fallout 4 from Steam or GOG
- Delete any old ini files in or this entire folder:
Documents\My Games\Fallout4 (you can back them up)
- Delete this folder in your appdata:
AppData\Local\Fallout4
- Uninstall any mod managers and remove mods (E.g. vortex, mo2)
- Remove any "CC" content in the Fallout 4 Data folder (E.g ccBGSFO4001-PipBoy(Black) - Main) in:
:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 OR
:\GOG\Fallout 4 GOTY

STEAM:
- Install Fallout 4 GOTY or Fallout 4 & only these DLC's:
Automatron, Far Harbor, Nuka-World, Contraptions Workshop, Vault-Tec Workshop, Wasteland Workshop
- Do not use the high-res texture pack, it can cause textures issues with Fallout: London and possible crash!
- Download the Official FOLON Downgrader
- Open the downgrader and find the folder that contains your copy of Fallout 4
This is likely to be :\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4
- Type your username + password
This is so the downgrader can confirm your licence to Fallout and access the depot
- Confirm your login on the Steam Guard. Keep this open as you may need to authorise 2 or 3 times.
- Press the downgrade button.
- Wait until the game is downgraded.
- This may take a while depending on your internet speeds
- It may say disconnected from Steam a few times ignore this
- If you have issues with this, you can downgrade manually

GOG:
- Install Fallout 4 GOTY

Once you have installed the base game it's a good idea to launch it atleast once.
The default game launcher will generate some required files and make edits to the fallout 4 keys in the windows registry
(This can be the cause of various installation issues)
Go to the main menu in the game and quit out to ensure this is done.

A: Make sure you are opening f4se_loader.exe NOT "Fallout4.exe". We recommend using our installer instead of a mod manager

Q: I have an issue with the downgrader
A: Check the nexus page to see our latest updates, but if the error is to do with Steam Guard, you may need to disable it temporarily

Q: I see odd textures in-game (e.g. vault doors)
A: You have the HD Texture pack or a mod installed. Please follow the quick start guide (and make sure you remove ALL the mods)

Q: I cannot choose my characters gender at the start
A: Make sure you are opening f4se_loader.exe NOT "Fallout4.exe". We recommend using our installer instead of a mod manager

A: Make sure you are opening f4se_loader.exe NOT "Fallout4.exe".
We recommend using our installer instead of a mod manager
If you are still having trouble, a workaround is to mash T as soon as the screen fades to black.
You can also try changing your graphics settings to Low.

Q: I am crashing/infinite loading when starting a new game, or is freezing on a black screen and white lines
A: Try starting a new game again and spam the skip (normally the T button). If this doesn't work then you will need to reinstall using the guide.

Q: I'm stuck at a red door that wont open
A: press ~ or @ then enter "tcl" (without the ") then ~ or @ and walk thru the door, press E behind it and then enter tcl again

Q: I'm running in 4K and having issues
A: Try running at 1080p

Q: I'm having issues after picking up the Combat Beer Mat Perk
A: We're aiming for this to be fixed asap but as a temporary fix press ~ or @ and then type "player.removeperk" (without the ") 0727E475

Q: When I load the game I'm getting the vanilla Fallout 4 music/background video
A: Delete the ini files found in Documents/My Games/Fallout4 and replace them with the ini files found in GOG/Games/Fallout London/_AppData.

Q: I've done a clean install of Fallout 4 but my Fallout 4/Data folder has a bunch of mods in there. Could this cause issues?
A: Yes. If you've previously used a mod manager, please make sure you've deleted the manager AND all the mods. Then reinstall Fallout 4 completely.

Q: My game won't launch. F4SE pops up and then the game closes.
A: Check the Fallout4prefs.ini in Documents/My Games/Fallout4, and make sure that the "iSize H" and "iSize W" match your monitors resolution.

Q: When I start a new game, the intro video plays for a second and then pauses/crashes.
A: Find "f4se_loader.exe" in your Fallout 4 folder. Right click and go to Properties, go to the 'Compatibility' tab. Tick "Run this program as an administrator". Press Apply and OK. Now find the "Launch Fallout - London" Shortcut in your Fallout 4 folder and tick "Run this program as an administrator" on those Properties as well. Now, when you launch your game through either of those files, this should fix your issue with the intro video stalling.

If you see repeated crashes, try running the Fallout 4 settings app again. It seems to forget the video settings sometimes.
Probably should be made a sticky as well?

Any explanation how to install this with GOG offline installer? There is a reason I switched to GOG - I don't want any game launching clients to run on my computers.

F4 is installed in "Fallout 4 GOTY" folder. When I run offline installer setup, it offers me to install to "Fallout London" folder. If I select "Fallout 4 GOTY" as instructed, it gets installed in "Fallout 4 GOTY\Fallout London" and it doesn't work. Whatever folder I select it always wants to create "Fallout London" folder. Do I need to manually change path to install this mod in "Fallout 4 GOTY" folder?

Sorry, but this is totally confusing and looks like nobody tested this version of installer ...

Edit1: Looks like you have to manually delete "Fallout London" part of path in offline installer. What a crazy installation - installer which installs installer ... Now "Fallout London" launch started, but failed again because it requires 144 GB to update F4 folder - which was nowhere mentioned ... Freeing up space and trying again, what a PITA to install.

Edit2:
- Have clean setup main game in "D:\Games\F4 GOTY\" folder - v1.10.163.0
- Installed Fallout London (GOG offline installer) in it's own folder as suggested by installer - "D:\Games\Fallout London\".
- After GOG setup completed, started "Launch Fallout - London.lnk" and update detected main game in "D:\Games\F4 GOTY\" folder - requires 144GB to complete setup (+35 for GOTY and +34 for FOLON installer, so in total 213 GB needed for installation).
- When FOLON installer completed, noticed "Launch Fallout - London.lnk" in "D:\Games\F4 GOTY" and started it, but it again runs FOLON update from previous step? Noticed FOLON installer files still available in "D:\Games\Fallout London\"? Are they needed since "D:\Games\F4 GOTY" is now ~65 Gb?
- Tried launching "f4se_loader.exe" from "D:\Games\F4 GOTY\" folder - game finally started with FOLON title and main menu. Clicked "New game" - main menu disappeared and background video just keeps rolling. Tried couple of times, but always same.

After trying to get this installed for last 4 hours, I just give up - I didn't even had a chance to try mod ... I don't know whose failure this is but I know I decided I will not buy F4 GOG version.

I agree with gsanjin, the offline package ( "setup_fallout_london_2.31_revision2_(64bit)_(75054).exe" and the associated .bin files) works in a somewhat weird way, as it extracts about 34 GB of files, that the "installer.exe" then pretty much copies into the Fallout 4 GOTY folder instead of moving them: that's wasting space and making unnecessary write operations.

So, since i was running into an issue when trying to actually start the game on my laptop, I tried reinstalling, but then I had the idea of telling the offline package to extract directly into the F4GOTY folder… well that was a BAD idea, because then the "installer.exe" replaced almost everything in there with 0 byte files instead >.>

Tried that, still doesn't work on my laptop.
It's not that much of an issue for me as I don't have that issue on my desktop, but I just thought I should let you know…

When I start the game and click on NEW GAME the loading symbol appears in the bottom right corner but the title screen continues to play and no new game starts. What could be the reason for this?
If I am trying to install this game via Heroic Games Launcher (Flatpak) on Linux via GOG, I can start the installer. But whenever I want to look for the current Fallout 4 install (that I also installed via Heroic from GOG), it cannot find my Fallout 4 directory.

Is there a way get the mod or at least an easy way to extract the files of the installer so I get the raw files? If that is true, I can manually override the files in my Fallout 4 directory without the installer. Of course I am not sure if I still need to use the Fallout London launcher or I can just run from my modified Fallout 4.

EDIT: I don't want to mess with Nexus Mods so I was curious in the offline installer options for the game you can also provide all the files to manually install via a .zip or .7z file next to the .exe.

Fallout 4 installed to f:\games\fallout 4 goty
install setup_fallout_london_2.31_revision2_(64bit)_(75054).exe and it installs to f:\games\fallout london
run the shortcut and it alters my files and installs in in f:\games\fallout 4 goty
after that can i delete f:\games\fallout london ???
FOLON Launcher doesn't do anything... I'm stumped. I deleted any and all existing previous FO4 installs from Steam and all associated mods etc (were on a different drive but wanted to be extra safe on this)
Paid $16 for GOG version and installed. Then installed FOLON. After download/install, when I click PLAY the Launcher window opens and just sits there, blank, and does nothing.

Anyone have any ideas what is wrong here?

Yeah it definitely isn't doing that. Just the plain black screen. Both FO4 and FOLON are installed under GOG/games. How would I know if isn't finding FO4? And is there an ideal way to organize the two downloads? Should they be in a shared folder? Never had problems with mods before so this is all new to me. Cheers
I'm having texture bugs with some clothing items and vine models/textures, the clothing items are all like a transparent yellow overlay and meshes for the vines look like they're highlighted in the GECK but in game. Note that the game started just fine having none of the other common issues and this texture bug only appeared a short time after leaving Themshaven and having a crash on top of the nearby crashed plane.
I installed it according to the guide here with the GOG version. I can launch the game from GOG Galaxy and it plays the intro movie for the mod. After I create my character, however, it immediately fades to a black loading screen and remains there. I'm not sure what else to try.
