I just bought The Fall and installed it on my MacBook Pro Late 2010 with Mac OS X 10.12.5.

The game starts just normal, and I see the first part of the intro, where the man in his suit fly through space and then through the planet's atmosphere. The last thing I see is the visor turning on. Then (as I can see in a video at Youtube), there is a scene with glow worms and a tree, where the pilot activates his antimatter shield. This is there the problems start.

I hear a crash, but the screen stays dark. Then the whole Mac becomes nearly frozen, taking a minute for each click or keyboard press (like dimming the screen or changing the volume using the Fn keys). It seems that the game has an infinite loop somewhere which blocks everything.

The CPU is at about up to 25% of one core, so nothing fancy at all. I had the game in window mode and could see the activity window showing this. When the scene with the tree and the glow worms should show up, the activity window does not refresh itself anymore.

Now the strange part: When I skip the intro by holding space during the first part, the game plays normally, at least for the first 20 minutes I tried.

Please help. I expect more cutscenes to occur which makes the game basically unplayable. Are there some kind of logging files I can provide?

Sincerely,
Fabian
