This is really getting annoying. It's happened with several games so far. The default resolution is set to something ridiculously high that could only be displayed on a movie theater screen, and when I run the game, it says that it's out of scan range. Then I have to press the Windows key just to get out of it.

Normally I look for a settings file and change it there. Then if I can't find one, I go into the Windows registry and look for the settings and change it there.

I just tried to run The Fall, and it happened. I couldn't find a settings file, but I found the resolution in the registry. But when I changed it, and played the game, it still got the error, and when I looked back in the registry, it had reverted to default! I tried it several times and it keeps happening!!!

So... what is the maximum resolution and refresh rate of your monitor?
The most I think it can do is 1280x1024, but the default for this game seems to be something like 1960x1200 or something ludicrous like that.

But that doesn't explain why it keeps resetting in the registry.

Ok, so for future searchers: What'd you do? :)
