Hi there!

I played Fahrenheit years ago on my PS2 and really liked it.
Sadly I sold my PS2 and all games with it when I switched to a PS3 (btw, don't ever do that, no matter how hard pressed for money you are! Those 200 bucks just aren't worth the bad feeling when you can't play all those games that you want to play so badly...)

A year or so ago I bought Fahrenheit for cheap for my PC (32bit Vista), but I couldn't get it to run, no matter what I tried. This was sadly a not so unusual issue with this game and OSs after Win XP.
I really badly want to play this game again and would now like to know if this version installs and runs smoothly on Vista 32bit and/or Win7 64bit systems or if you have encountered the problems associated with the other versions of Fahrenheit on more modern systems.

Thanks a lot!
The GOG version runs on Windows 7 x64 just fine.

AFAIK, there was a workaround to make retail version work too. IIRC, it was installing the game that was a problem, getting it to run wasn't difficult. I might check if I still have the guide on how to run it, in case you're interested.

Thanks for the info and the kind offer.

I actually made the reatil version start (copying some folders from the DVD to the HDD and some minor additional steps, which I don't remeber any more), but I just made it to the menu, and there it crashed, reliably freezing my whole system every single time :(

I'd rather buy the GOG version. I have the money, they deserve it, so everyone is happy :)

I can confirm that the game runs EXTREMELY smoothly in the highest graphics settings on my Vista x64 PC.
I'll just chime in and say that the game runs great on my Win 7 x64 system as well.

It hung up on the initial boot up of the game but after that it's been flawless.
I've already purchased the game now, but thanks for your input none the less.

Gives me a good feeling that it should work well when I install it on the weekend. :D
